Parade Theme Information
- 2024 Parade Theme: CARTOONS
- Judges will be awarding cash prizes to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place floats totally $1,000 – donated by the Belle Plaine Chamber of Commerce.
- Winners will be announced on our BBQ Days Facebook page following the parade.
Parade Rules & Reminders
- Unit placement is based on the needs of the parade, space, existing parade presence, safety & sound.
- Acceptance of registration after the deadline of 7/5/2024 is at the discretion of the Belle Plaine BBQ Days Committee. If accepted, there will be an add’l charge of $25 to participate and you will be placed at the end of the parade line-up.
- Parade starts at NOON with the line-up beginning at 9:00am.
- Check-in/Line-up will be from 9:00-11:30am at the Borough Bowl, 235 S Ash Street.
- Large units, such as semi-trucks and trailers, please check in early!
- For safety reasons, please have your group meet at one point other than check-in and have ONE spokesperson for your group check in & then lead your group to your designated location.
- You will receive your line-up information at check-in, on parade day.
- Drop off people in your group in the parking lot associated with the softball field – near the water tower. You will not be permitted to drive inside the line-up area unless your vehicle is IN the parade.
- Absolutely NO items, including candy, may be thrown from the parade unit, but walkers can!
- No water should be thrown or sprayed from parade units.
- No use of alcoholic beverages will be allowed on parade units.
- Politians are only allowed to walk beforehand and distribute material, no exceptions.
- And as always, Matt Saxe has vehicles available for anyone needing a car/truck for the parade but please note there is a limited availability based on inventory levels, please request by June 1st by calling Matt Saxe Chev/Buick, 952-873-2234.
